Troubleshooting for bad compressor
Hi,
I have a Carrier 3 1/2 ton central air unit (15 yrs old). When the outdoor unit is running, my pressures on the high and low side were both 35 psi. When I turn the unit off the pressures stabilized at 60 psi. The temperature of the the air coming out of the vent was around 57 degrees. Can someone give me some advice on:
1. Can I get 57 degree air if the compressor is bad?
2. What shuould normal high and low side pressures read.
Thx in advance.

Sounds like you are missing a valve.
