Lightbulb RUUD or Weatherking..comments welcome

Hello,
I have been reading these posts for a while, everyone is quite helpful. Looking for a little advice. My home is a 2200 sf colonial. It faces west, and we live in upstate NY.

This winter replaced old GE Furnace with a 2 stage RUUD 92% 75,000 Btu unit, and installed a 3 ton ADP coil with expansion valve. Seems to be a decent fit, possibly slightly undersized.

I now have to replace Condenser. Three options, having a tough time choosing. All include new line set, I am doing electric

1.) 3 ton 10 SEER RUUD condenser with scroll compressor (10 yr war). $1450 installed.
2.) 3 ton 13 SEER WEATHER KING Condenser with reciprocating compressor (5 yr war). $1550
3.) 3 ton 13 SEER RUUD with scroll compressor (10 yr war) $1875 installed.

Not sure how long I will be in house 5-7 years is a guess. Looks like it will take awhile to recoup cost of 1 the 13 seer.

Any strong opinions either way?

Thanks!

Wink

Id go for the 13 seer or better. In 5 to 7 years it will help sell the home for you better.

13 SEER. I also like the scroll compressors much better.

New A/C

In upstate NY, I doubt you would recover the cost of the 13 SEER in electrical savings. A friend in the real estate business tells me the only question most potential home buyers ask regarding the HVAC system is: "How old is it?"
