A/C outside unit not working

My son cut a low voltage wire at the outside unit. I spliced it and now the A/C won't turn on. There is power to the unit. Is there some kind of reset switch? Any ideas?

Wink

Id check the transformer inside and see if its good. You dont say what units you have so you can have a small fuse in the board that blowed also. Check the wires outside and see if you do get 24 V to the contactor.

The question I have is where is the transformer. Is it outside or inside. That would make the difference of how it is wired.
