Fan direction ?

Yes this question again, before I asked about does it matter wich way the fan on the out side unit turns and the answer is YES it does matter, it should be blowing in your face if you look into it, well mine turns the other way, the motor only says it turns CCW ( counter clock wise ) thee is an arrow like this on the info plate ---->

I have searched with no luck for a fan blade that will fit my unit with a different pitch .....you can not simply reverse it, I tried did not help, I am convinced that I will have to just get another motor that turns the other direction, BUT what about reversing the wires so that it will spin the other direction ?????

why I ask, if I have to get another motor anyways, why not re-wire this motor ??..........are directional motors not supposed to be reversed.........what wired do I switch to get the motor to turn the opposite way ???..........any help thanks

If you have a motor that you can turn around .it will show you on the motor what wires to change to make it run CW from CCW.
Make sure you run at the same RPM as old motor.

First of all, it makes no difference which way the motor turns. All that matters is that the FAN blow air out the TOP of the condensor unit.

Fans are available to reverse the direction of flow if your new motor turns opposite of the original motor.

Motors that are not designed to be reversed should not be reversed. If they are designed to be reversed there is a wiring code usually found ON the motor.

OK and thanks, so the simplest solution would be get a new fan blade that spins CCW...correct ??........now for the fun part, how do I tell what pitch on the blades, I know I need a 23 in blade, motor is only 1/4 HP, but how many blades, also what is the standard for the direction of blades or motors is that looking at it or from the mounted position, meaning who knows which way CCW is ?? looking at it ??

You dont say what make the unit is. Id try and get one from a HVAC shop they can get a OEM blade for you. As far as CW and CCW Dont forget some motors hang down not up isnt it

If a motor's direction could be reversed by just reversing the two main wires, then I'd really be screwed running my vacuum because my vacuum has a non-polarized plug. And if I could reverse it by plugging the neutral into the hot, then my vacuum would turn into a dust BLOWER. Wouldn't THAT be a surprise to the operator, with this 50/50 proposition?

its a Trane knock off, no visible manuf name of the unit or the inside of the plate, the last guy that looked at it said the model number was a Trane Clone ( if that makes sense )
the fan motor hangs down rotation arrow points to the right, and fan spins CCW, so that why I said CCW.....now when replacing a fan blade I would order a ccw blade correct, or would that be ( cw )....the blade needs to know weather its for a hanging motor so would that reverse direction.........now I am confused
