Post Air Conditioner leaking inside. Suggestions?

Hi. I have a Danby Simplicity window air conditioner, model # SAC10504D. Recently it started to leak water inside. The water is no longer dripping outside like it should. I took the air conditioner out of the window to look inside of it and found that it is quite gummed up in the drain tray where the water is to eventually drain outside. The drain spout is clear. How can I get ride of the wet gumming dirt in the drain try? I was thinking of spraying it out with water but I don't want to damage the air conditioner. Any suggestions on how to clean it safely to resolve my problem would be much appreciated, thank you.

Wink

Take the cover off and yes wash it out. just dont let the water get up in the electric works. Some clorox after your done will help keep it clean. Make sure the drain tube or hole from inside coil to the outside coil is clear.

Thumbs up Problem Resolved!

Thanks for the reply. My neighbor came by and said the same thing. So we sprayed the back portion avoiding the electronics. It was worse then I thought. The entire back of the unit was caked in dirt. After cleaning the unit out it now operates perfectly. Thanks again for the helpful reply.
