Wow, did I get a pleasant surprise

Had our central system replaced last November and among other things the warranty requires annual checkup. No problem. The ac company called last week to schedule a checkup, wife made the appointment. Pointed out to wife that it is only 8 months old; she said, "Oh". They called back to confirm the appointment and she questioned the timeframe (only 8 months) and $$$. They said "no charge" and it's their standard procedure.

You HVAC pro's: Is this pretty common?

Pleasant surprise

I've been trying, to no avail, for years to get my employer to include a "check-up" after the first season. I think it will encourage customers to have their equipment maintained & it gives me a chance to look things over after a year in the real world.
