Question Blower Motor Replacement; Larger Motor?

Have 8 yr old York P3HUA12N06401B. Blower motor barely runs and when it does it runs CW not CCW. Had AC company come out. Checked Capacitor, it was OK. Said Blower Motor needs replacing (024-215103-002). AC Company called and said part is obsolete. I called an AC parts company to verify. They said part is obsolete but there is a replacement motor: 1075/4 1/3hp, CCW 115 part no. 024-31969-000. Won't sell to an individual.

1. Any way to purchase a motor myself and install it?
2. Can the blower motor be replaced with a more powerful motor which would give me more airflow?

Take the motor to an electric motor shop. If they don't have a replacement, they can likely get one. Stay with what the manufacturer specifies. A motor too big is just as bad, or worse than, one too small.
