Question Thermostat Wiring Problem

I have a Heil furnace Model# NTC5100B JC1, and I diagnosed it to have a bad fan relay board. I picked up a board with the same number on it at My local HVAC supplier. I put the wires back where they come off, but I can't get it to stay running. Any thoughts or ideas will be appreciated. Bill

Wink

If you go to fan on does it run for you??? If not . If you jump R to G does it run for you?? If not you have a new board and relay so that should be good. Check the motor and its capacitor next.

Thanks Ed for the advice. The reason I diagonised the fan board bad, was I had no 24v going to condenser. I run jumper between R and G, ran 5 minutes or so and motor quit turning and stopped and makes a noise as it is still electrified.
The same results when I turn it to on.

Do You know if it is a start capacitor or a run? I have been having to give the motor a slight push to get it to run. Thanks, Bill

Capacitor

Fan motors use a run capacitor. The voltage & capacitance should be marked on the body of the capacitor.
