Dual system & 1 unit making condensate but not the other

Just had one of my 2 units replaced. The old remaining unit is filling a
condensate drain bucket every day (2gall.) but the new unit is producing
about 2 tablespoonfulls. Before the replacement both units used to produce
similar amounts. They are of the split unit type with the air handlers in the attic. The outside humidity at this time is around 60% with a dewpoint up to 66degrees with a high temperature of about 104.

If the new ac is taking moisture out of the air, what could be happening to it?

Wink

First does the new unit in the attic have a trap on it??? If its not right the unit can hold the water in it. Right after it shuts off will water run out? Feel the lines on it at the outdoor unit. The big copper line should be cold and wet the small copper line warm to hot.

Make the Call

If you had the replacement done, call the contractor back.
