Question Payne A/C Unit

Has anyone used or dealt w/ Payne units.
I spoke to an a/c man and he said he would be using this type. There are so many brands on the market, I don't know the difference.

It's an ok unit. It's the install that means the most. Even the top of the line Trane if installed incorrectly will be nothing but trouble.

I didn't think Payne was made any more?

Payne was/is part of Carrier. be about the same thing as carrier, but a bit more basic.

Most all systems you buy anymore are made by a major company. So it's safe to say that whatever you buy is made to last and will give you years of service. BUT, as one poster said, install is one of the most important things for a great system. After the install, you will be required to do maintenance on the system to keep the unit running for years without costly repairs.

Payne split from Carrier probably 10 years ago or so and went out on their own again. Maybe they're just not in your area like they used to be when they were with Carrier.
