hot shot cap for stuck compressor
How is the hot start cap wired in with the existing start run cap. If the compressor breaks free, remove or leave the hot shot in place?

It is not that simple.
A "stuck" compressor is really a seized compressor..........it's not like it will be freed and then be ok.
It might be possible that a hard start relay gets it running but it will have to remain installed.
A typical hard start relay wires across the run cap terminals but you need to follow the instructions that come with it.

Thanks for the reply.
Then evidently there is more to this package than just another hang on capacitor. Your mention of a relay is a factor I did not know about, and evidently takes the hot shot out of service once the compressor starts. This is just an assumption of course. Thanks, Tom
