Command-Aire Thermostat Change-out

Hi, I have Command-Aire model SWP 351EA water source heat pump in my apartment. I want to replace the original thermostat model CM260A with a Totaline Model P474-0100. This one has auto change-over feature from cool to heat and heat to cool.

The original is a four (4) wire. Can anyone tell me the correct connections to use on the Totaline?

I am not able to find any info on your current t-stat.

When you look at the sub-base, what wire is hooked up to what letters on the current sub-base?

Wiring

Hi Jay11j,

The thermostat wiring to heat pump is as follows:

Rc is connected to R (Random Start [24 VAC])
G is connected is connected to G (Fan)
Y is connected to Y2 (Compressor)
O is connected to Y1 (Reversing valve)

There is also a jumper on the thermostat between Y and W.

The heat pump is a water source type which provides both cooling and heat. The original thermostat was a manual change over type. The Totaline is an auto changeover type.

I hope the above info helps.

Heat pump to T-stat
R to R (may need a jumper wire at t-stat.)

G to G

Y1 to O

Y2 to Y

Is there back up heat source on the heat pump?

Hello MB300, I see you helped someone else out a while back with a Command_aire thermostat. I want to install a new programmable White-Rodgers thermostat and cannot figure out the wiring. My existing thermostat has R (red wire), G(green wire), Y1 (blue wire), Y2 (white wire) terminals. The new White Rodgers unit has O/B, Y, G, W2, C, L, R terminals. Can you help? Many thanks, Fred

Looks like MB was assisted by Jay.
Can you post the connections at the heat pump?
It looks like their Y1 was connected to O at the heat pump. If this is the case your new thermostat will support your system.

Thanks, but he mentions a jumper. The old thermostat has no jumper so where would a jumper go in the new one. Let me shoot J a message too.
