40AQ Air Handler Drip Pan- Help Needed
We have a 80'ish Carrier 40AQ heat pump/air handler. There are two coil drip pans, one at the top from a nylon/plastic material...no problem there...the lower drip is base metal...and has rusted through.
Is it possible/likely that I would be able to find a replacement bottom plastic or metal drip pan to fit the coil, or does something need to be "rigged up" to make this happen?
The full model number on the air handler is:
40AQ024330DF
...the coil is in a left-hand orientation
The local A/C techs say no replacement tray is available from Carrier; but they can have one made for about $800. The only other option is to buy a new coil (with I assume new drip pans).
What's the best thing to do with this?
