Fan motor very hot
Hi. Yesterday I replaced the motor and capacitor after motor went bad. Now, the entire unit is very hot to the touch. The fan is blowing in the right direction. Any ideas? Perhaps bad wiring of cap?

too late too know now, but I'll ask...did you get the fan blades "exactly" back to the elevation of the shroud was before you changed it all out?...It sounds like it's running hot on high head pressure without seeing it.

I think it's pretty close. I'll have to look at the old motor and compare. The new motor has a much longer shaft, but it fit without having to cut it. Would that have anything to do with it?
