Question Please Help

My air conditioning wasn't blowing cold air, I went under the house and checked it out and it seems my dogs were playing under there and knocked the air duct (round tube with insulation around it.) down that brings the cold air into the house. I checked that it was clear and reconnected it.
I noticed the "Air handler" I think that's its name.(the big metal box lol) had a large puddle of water under it. I thought that was normal so I didn't do anything.
Then it happened again, a few days later (accidentally shut off electric fence for dogs) This time I got ductape and made sure the duct was securely fastened. I went back inside and the a/c wasn't blowing as well as usual, I went under the house to make sure nothing else had been knocked down and noticed that the puddle was gone. I remember that puddle being there for a while, but that was when the a/c was at its best. I hear that its bad to leak but the problems seem to be that the puddle isn't there. This is a lot to read and I'm sorry but I want to make sure you know what I did because I only know a tiny bit about air conditioning. Thank you for any help you can provide.

You see water under there, that is because your Evap unit is cold and generates a lot of condensing water. that is good, means your unit is working, but usually the water should be drained out by a pipe. So, first, if you see water, that means you have drain problem, no big deal. second, no cold air is you real problem, because your unit is not working, therefore you don't see water anymore, you should check to see if the outside unit is working(running) and blow warm air and go from there...

I shut the a/c off yesterday and turned it back on today and it is working perfectly, cold air blowing strong. But the puddle is still gone. I saw a diagram showing where the drain pipes are and I see there is one connected, I just dont know where it leads and if it is working. could the condensation itself be the reason the unit may have stopped? It is usually hot under the house where the a/c unit is but when the duct was unhooked it was 60 degrees could that have done something as well?

Condensation should not stop your unit. 60 degree was because the duct was nocked down and the cold air was blow into the AC area, not into your house. If the outside air is hot and not too dry, you should always have condensation while the unit is running correctly, and the water should be drained to your plumbing system. (not sure if you have a secondary drain pipe, but
either way you should not see water on the floor.) So, first, if you don't see water, but you have cold air blow into your house. that is good. Second, if you have cold air blow into the house, but you see water on the floor, you have drain problem. Third, if you don't have cold air blow into the house, and you don't see water anywhere, then you have a real A/C problem (assume the duct is hooked correctly). One other thought, the puddle of water may be because the cold air duct was nocked out and the AC area was too cold which generated the condensation, this puddle of water was not from your AC Evap unit.
