Red face outside unit wont shut off

I have a little problem. I got a puppy and he chewed through the wires on the outside unit. I put the wires back together and it ran fine for a while but now the outside unit wont shut off unless I pull the breaker to turn it off. Is it due to the wires or is there something else wrong with the unit? The unit is only 3 years old. Is it going to be expensive to replace the wire?

might have some electronics within sensitive to the wire connections.....flip them(i'm thinking 24V thin wires YES)if that doesn't do it.shut the stat OFF on cooling put FAN in ON position, and run out see if the cond/comp are ON contactor might be jammed might of chattered when pup was chewing it that was a 40/50VA transformer coming out of the air handler section to the condenser...maybe he caught it in the off cycle
