New HVAC Thermostat - Need help with wiring

I have a Goodman PHK 036-1A Electric Heat / A/C All-in-one unit that has 6 wires running to my thermostat.

I am moving from a Simple Comfort (SC2201) thermostat to a Honeywell RTH230B Programmable Thermostat.

The wiring on the original SC2201 was as follows:
BLACK -> O
WHITE -> W (Heating Call?)
GREEN -> G (Fan?)
BLUE -> Y (Cooling Call?)
RED -> R (Heating or AC Call?)
WHITE -> C (24VAC Common/Return?)

These are my best guess notes from various sources on the net. Note that there are 2 white wires.

The new Honeywell has no instructions for wiring the unit to a 6 wire lead (there are only 5 terminals on the subblock).

The Honeywell says the wiring should be as follows:
Rh -> Heating Power Supply
Rc -> Cooling Power Supply
W -> Heating Signal
Y -> Cooling Signal
G -> Fan

I am really banging my head against the wall on this one. I would love to be able to hook this up myself as oppose to hiring an A/C contractor to come out and do it for $100 in under 5 minutes.

Any suggestions, comments, thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Holidays.

thermostat help

If this new stat is digital it is a power stealing model, or if it is a mechanical stat either way it does not need a common to operate. Eliminate the wire going to the C terminal and make sure the new stat works with electric heat. If this is strictly a gas heat thermostat it will not call for your fan to run on a call for heat so read the instructions carefully.

The Honeywell says the wiring should be as follows:
Rh -> Heating Power Supply
Rc -> Cooling Power Supply
W -> Heating Signal
Y -> Cooling Signal
G -> Fan

Notice the lack of th "O" wire. It seems to be a gas heat T-Stat. You need to take it back and get one for a heat pump.

R= Supply of 24v to T-stat Rc&Rh should be jumpered
W= Heat (AUX or EMR)
Y= Cooling
G= Fan
O/B = Reversing valve, goodman is more than likely a fail in heat so use the"O" terminal
C= Common

There are your six wires.
You say you have 2 whites? Trace them down and ID them.

Good Luck & Happy Holidays

your inside somebody elses thread on a stat problem and it makes for confusion just start a thread next time to isolate your situation better.on your problem hopefully you can pick up the wire IDs from the connection in the furnace......industry standard to stat is R/RED/TR HOT...G/GREEN/FAN...Y1/YELLOW/COOL...W/WHITE/HEAT
