Problems with Carrier 24ABR

The problem I am experiencing is when it enters cool mode the fan will turn on like normal and the system will come on. Then for the next minuet or two it will sound like it continually starting. Replaced the existing HAI RC-80 With a new Hai Rc-2000. When the new t-stat it will lock up the tstat when trying to activate the cool function. Thanks for taking the time to ready my post.

Which fan ? the indoor fan ?
So you replaced the stat because the system was not running ?
When you replaced the stat did you kill power to the system ?
What was your original problem ?

The original problem was that after cool started it would continuously start for a couple of minuets. Only reason for replacing the tstat was it is a newer model. The unit was powered down when connections were made

continuously start?
What does that mean?
The outdoor unit would keep coming on and going off after under a minute?
The indoor blower cycles on and off quickly?
Do you reset anything, or does it run normally after short cycling?

Sorry about the delay in my response. After digging a little deeper the sound I am hearing is coming In from the inside blower. In heat mode the blower starts normally. When cool is selected the outside unit turns on but the inside blower does not start. It will make a sound similar to a buzz then it will click repeatedly.
