Amana

Hi,
I am in process of changing one of my AC units (2Ton) and furnace along with it. Some one gave me a quote of $5100 for a 16 Seer for AC unit and furnace with variable speed. Amana has a limited life time warranty on condensor and heat exchanger for furnace. 10 year parts and labor. These warranties look very good but is Amana worth spending money on or should I look for some other brand like Carrier, etc. Amana is now owned by Goodman. I am really confused right now and appreciate anyone's analysis and advice.

Why are you confused ? I install Amana as well as other well known brands. As I have said before, its the installing contractor thats more important then the equipment. I have seen 2-3 yr old high end high eff. units fail do to poor installs and have seen builder grade equip with a good install chug along for years. There is nothing wrong with Amana IMHO, good equipment, great warranty. Thats also a pretty good price
