Question HEAT LOAD CALCULATION & 1TR of refrigeration

If I want to calculate the tonnage of Air conditoning in sinagle or multistory building. How can I calculate it.What is the right defination of 1Tonn of refrigeration.What is the benefit of subcooling in vapour compression cycle.

One ton of refrigeration is 12,000 btu's and subcooling is just referring to the amount of temperature difference of a substance (a liquid for the purposes of this discussion) below the temperature at which the gas became a liquid (dew point/temperature at which it precipitated).
We use this as a measurement to make sure that whatever metering device is being used is receiving liquid as these metering devices are designed to control only the flow of liquid refrigerant
