mars universal timer
i have to tap on this timer to get my ac going.
i have purchased a new on online.
can i bypass this timer temporarily while i wait for my new one?

not really sure why the timer in on there, was on there when i bought the house.
it is just a delay timer

Hmmm..until an HVAC Pro weighs in....I think maybe that timer is to prevent short cycling of the compressor. In other words..it won't let in turn on right after it has turned off. Pretty sure that can cause damage to the compressor.
It may be that the contacts for the adjustment are dirty or have arced and burned a bit.
Have you tried rotating the settings through their full range several times (with power off) then set them back to original?
AGAIN..not a Pro here...but that wouldn't hurt I don't believe.

OK, a time delay is very different then a timer. Its purpose is to delay compresor start up so your not starting against high head pressure.
You can remove it if you want until you get a new one
