A/C fan stopped working blowing air, troubleshoot?

The other day i noticed my AC blowing straight air and I went outside and noticed the fan isn't working at all. When i turn on the AC it blows cool air for a few minutes then turns warm. It runs with the normal sound but then a hissing sound comes on after couple mintues.

I need some advice on where to troubleshoot. thanks.

Model is a Trane XE1000

I'm not that familiar with the AC, so any detailed help would be appreciated.

At the outdoor unit the fan is not running when you have the system turned on for cooling? What about the compressor, is it running? It's hard to follow your explanation. Divide it up into the outdoor unit is ...... the indoor unit is ..... Thanks.

when i turn on the A/C, the indoor and outdoor units turn on and cool air runs for a few minutes, but the fan doesn't run on the outside unit and the tube into the outside unit is cold.

Also the outside unit runs for a few minutes, then there is a hissing noice come from it.

I appreciate the response.

To rephrase what you just said (correct me if I misunderstand you) --> On the outdoor unit, the fan AND compressor motors BOTH start, but after a few minutes the compressor remains running but the blower stops.

If this is the case, you seem to have a case of a defective condenser fan motor. Replace

VERY HARMFUL to the compressor to allow it to continue operating under this condition. Don't run your unit, you could lose your compre$$or
