Outside (condensing unit?) Hiss @ Shut Dn

Hi - I have central zoned (Up/dn) system. One of the outdoor units (condensing unit??) hisses rather loud when it shuts down. Hiss will diminish/go away after about 8 or 10 seconds. Any thoughts on what this is? Is it normal? Unit(s) is/are 8yrs old (new 8yrs ago). I have not had them serviced/checked - ever. Other than this hiss, all operation is fine - always has been. Thanks for any insight. Thirsty Red.
