a/c with problem

Got a 6K BTU operating on 110vac, mounted in brick and mortar.

Unit won't run.

It has a cable with a GFI type thing on connector end.

How do I find out if it's the connector GFI, or a bad motor?

Do these things have an internal circuit breaker? I'd have to pull the thing and remove the case for taking care of that.

I would check the GFI "thing" first
