Question Gurgling a/c

Whenever the condenser turns on or off, I hear gurgling. This unit uses 410a, my old unit was r22 and for 24 yrs never did this. It was contractor installed, but he says this noise is normal????? Help

your dealing with a freon now that runs 3X what the old R-22 ran on the condenser and the liquid line so when it shuts off it has to equalize the 2 pressures and that might be liquid going back into the condenser...your old r-22 ran 240-260 psi and 65 to 75 psi on real hot days you can do an easy 700psi plus on the condenser with the new stuff

I'm not sure if the higher pressure is causing his noise. But the new refrigerant 410A runs about 1.5X higher, not 3X than R22. So a unit running 260 on R22 would be about 420 with R410A.

Thanx for the reply. So this is a normal occurrence. I guess we were just use to the other unit.
