Return grill with filter?

I recently expanded the bathroom to include a hall closet my wife wanted inside the bathroom. What also ended up inside the bathroom was the ceiling return for the air conditioning system. I had it boxed in and is now venting above the bathroom door, so it is drawing from the hallway. My question is, is there a grill that would be approx 24" x 8" that also includes a changeable filter holder?

The return grille is in the bathroom? That's s a no no. Is it the only return? How many tons is your a/c system?

ok sorry I misunderstood
24 x 8 is too samll for 2 tons
I don't have my manual D here but I'm thinking that at least 20 x 16 woul be more like it

What was on the ceiling before was approx 20 x 10 so I'm not losing much 200 before to 192.

A/C fan motor wiring

I removed the old motor and mounted the new one. The old wiring was red, brown, and black. The new witing is Brown-capacitor, Brown/white-capacitor, Yellow-compressor, Black-speed. I assume that black stays the same. Does yellow take the place of red? I also assume that solid brown and brown and white take the place of Brown. How do I hook up the brown and the brown/white wire to the capacitor? Do they go on the same post? Please help. The motor is A.O.Smith FSE1016SV1 and the capacitor is Packard POC 5. Also, When hooked up the fan goes on for about 5 min then shuts off. The breaker at the house does not trip. It sounds like the condenser is still operating without the fan.Read More

Think I have a blower motor problem

My ac just went out last night and with these over 100 degree days I need to fix this ASAP w/ little money. I am pretty mechanicaly inclined, but never worked on home ac before. Here's what's happening; The compressor outside is still turning on and running. There is cold air floating around near the filter. There is no air going through any of the vents. The blower in the attach is not turning on at all. I have changed the filter, turned of the unit to make sure it was not frozen or anything. I tried turning it back on and still nothing. I was told that it is probably the blower motor. Please let me know if this sounds right. If so, can anyone tell me how to replace it? any web sights that would help?
