Trane XL16 System Dead

My system went completely dead. Air handler and compressor all dead. Reset breakers and checked if I had 24Vac at the thermostat. No power there, so I went to the air handler and the two leds on the board were not lit up. I noticed there was a inline fuse 300V LMF 3.2A on the wiring hardness which when I tested the fuse reads open for continuity. Where can I buy this fuse? HVAC dealers want to come to my house as a service call. Anybody know of a place where I can buy this fuse which looks like an old car fuse but is rated for 300V 3.2A?

You can try an HVAC supply house, Graingers, etc. I would get a few of them. If you have a low voltage short it will blow again and you will need to locate and repair the short.

Thank You

I did find a place that sells this fuse, but they only sell them in packs of 5. I hear what you are saying and If I remember there was a bad electrical storm last Monday. I'm hoping its just the fuse, but in the meantime I have already signed up with my utility to have the A/C unit on a service contract in the event there are other problems (i.e., burnt out control board...etc) now and in the future.
