A/C compressor running but condensing fan not

I have a 3 1/2 ton goodman heatpump.........the unit comes on fine to begin with, but after about 2 minutes the condensing motor turns off, and appears to be hot, I have replaced the compressor,the motor and the caps..........HELP would a corroded wire on the cap do this

You replaced the compressor, are you sure about that? Do you mean the contactor maybe?

Mu guess would be you have something mis wired, can you post a pic?

Yes,I did this type work 25 years ago.......but it has changed, the compressor blew out at the lug, so I replaced it, then It started fine, and the cndensing fan motor only ran 2 or 3 minutes, so I replaced it and put a seperate cap on it............it stll does the same thing,,,,,,,I have a bad wire on the cap, could that heat the motor up

If you have a seperate cap for the motor as you say the only wires on it should be the two from the new motor. A pic would help.

my ac not working HELP!!!

my unit is 5 years old the outside unit motor acts like it wants to kick on but the blades do not start on their own I have to give then a little push the they start.the vents inside the house do blow air but not cool air to cool the house I have it set at 70f and actual temperature reading is 82f?please give me some advice.thank you in advance!

I would start by replacing the duel capacitor

I am sorry but let me rephrase it a bad capacitator will cause my unit blow air but not cold air through the vent ?could it be a motor when the thermostat is turn on after some time the motor feel hot to the touch but blades nos spinning!could there be anyway that it needs freon(refrigerant)

norma...sorry..but you just don't get it. Yes..the cap can cause the problem.

Call a service tech...you are in over your head.

Again..sorry..but just the way it is.

once the blades start spinning after I gave then a little push it keeps working but the freon does not work !

norma...enough...enough...enough. You don't know what you are talking about..or are unable to communicate it.

You have been told to try replacing the capacitor and see if it fixes it. The cap will affect the compressor and the fan. Its a $25 (or so) part. If you cannot do that..you really have no option...you can't just kick it to make it work.

Call a service tech...
