Heat Pump compressor wont stay on

Hi everyone,

I have a 6 year old Trane Split System Heat Pump (2TWR1030A1000AA). Worked fine last summer and winter.

It comes on and the blower runs, outdoor fan runs, but the compressor only runs for 1-2 seconds and shut off. Every 30 seconds or so it will try to come on again and shut off after 1-2 seconds again. While the compressor is on both the small and large coolant line do get cold.

I opened the cover and nothing looks disconnected or burnt out. I found the switchover valve solenoid and it seems in order, very solid click when it is disconnected and reconnected.

Any recommendations as to what I can check before calling a pro?

Sounds like a low pressure switch issue. (refrigerant leak)
Not a DIY fix.
