did they give me the right compressor?
I have a AC wall unit. They took out a compressor that has a 25.0/10.0 MFD and put a new one in half the size that is a 25/7.5 MFD. The guy said it was the right one cause it's 10% give or take. Is he right? Was this the right one to put in? My AC wall unit does not feel as cool.

I'm not positive about whether it will be ok or not...but what he is saying doesn't match what he did. Ok, the 25 is fine...but 7.5 (+ or - .75 = 8.25 or 6.75) is not w/i 10% of a 10 (11 or 9).
By the way...I think you mean capacitor...not compressor. Though if they really did replace the compressor (probably a black can about the size of a cantalope)..it might require a different cap.
Could you clarify what was actually done and why?

if they just replace the capacitor then even if it is a different size it wouldnt matter cuz all the capacitor does is start the compressor. once its going the capacitor becomes unused and would have zero effect on your cooling.

And, PSC motors, typically used for condenser fans, have one cap for both start and run that is connected continuously.
