Air Conditioning fan breaker keeps popping>

The circuit breaker for my Air Conditioning compressor fan pops periodically, don't know why this keeps happening.

Check to make sure that the breaker is the right size for the AC. The condenser should have an information plate with minimum ckt. ampacity and max breaker size. If the breaker is larger than listed, it may be fused down at the disconnect. On an older unit there may be no plate or it may be faded away (thanks UV rays!) but you can probably find documentation for your particular unit online.

You can check what it's pulling for amps by testing one of the line voltage wires into the contactor, or at the disconnect (usually behind a plate).

What is the make/model and other relevant info?

*Edit*
Oh, also check for loose wiring in the condenser (usually accessible w/ the removal of a few 5/16th" screws). Be sure to pull the disconnect when dealing with the wiring.

Usually the fan and the compressor are on the same 240-V circuit breaker. Is that what you have?

Wash the evaporator and condenser coils.
