Hello, I am new to this forums. I've looked back a few pages and did not find any topic related to my question. I have a ~190sq. ft. room. I recently bought a window model 6,500 BTU AC. I know I am suppose to use it in a window, but since I have a wall in box I put it in there. I really did not want to lose a window and also the wall in ACs are so very expensive and a bit out of my reach. My issue which I suppose is to be expected is that the AC does not cool the room very well. It does, but it takes so long to do it. I have included a few pictures of the unit and the box. The wall in box was actually bigger than the AC so I built a little wooden frame around it, and put some silicone in some open areas. Do you guys have any recommendations as to what I can do in this situation to run my AC as best as possible? I would apprentice any advice. Thanks for reading. I just recently had my thermostat replaced, it was shown to be faulty according to the maintenance person sent out, the ac and fan would kick on what seemed to be at random, but the house would never cool down and the outside fan would turn off before reaching the interior cooling temperature. Iv cleaned out any debris inside of the outside fan in the condenser fins. The repair man also said the freon level was about over charged and released about 10 pounds to get it to the recommended level... in a not so environmentally friendly way... Anyway, iv looked up some wiring colors for my thermostat and i was wanting to just bypass it and let the ac run for a while to at least narrow down the problem myself, i was wondering what the difference between the first and second stage cooling wires were Y1 and Y2, and to get some verification to see if what i thought is correct. To bypass the thermostat and run the ac i would connect jumpers from the red (rc) 24v wire to the Y1 yellow first stage cooling, Y2 blue second stage cooling, and G green energizes the indoor fan wires all together, is that correct? Does anyone else have any other suggestions as to where i should check next? Thanks!!
