Installing a CAC Air Handler in basement

I am purchasing a home , and will be installing central ac this spring . I was a sheetmetal worker , and installed cac in my previous two homes , and had ductwork to the lower level from the air handler thru closets . In the home I am purchasing , an expanded ranch , ther will be no way to get from the attic above the second floor to the open plan kitchen/dining/living room . Can the air handler be hung in the basement , I can reach both floors on one side thru closets and the other area from across the basement(unfinished as of yet). I have looked at ductless systyms , they seem to be very expensive (at least 6 units , one per room).Any thoughts would be appreciated . Thanks in advance .

sure it can be hung from the joists in the basement. just install a secondary pan under the unit.
