xv 95 XL16i Tcont 803

The contractor that installed my new sytem came to do the final check out today.

I asked him why W1 & W2 were tied together at the furnace TB. His answer was that that is how they are told to wire it, I then asked him why not have the 2 stage T-stat control it , he said the furnace circuit & the t-stat control the same way etc.

What are your opinions?

Thank you in advance,

PD

my personal opinion is 2 stage stat is better than having furnace control on timer. stat calls for 2nd stage when load requires it, not on 10 min timer.

Should they have put a 2 stage stat in? Don't know what you payed for......... was it in your contract for 2 stage stat? otherwise...... good luck getting them to put one in.

I thought the Tcont 803 was a 2 stage t-stat, just wish I knew what the internal parameter flow chart was. I'm sure its not PID control or some fuzzy logic-- (self tuning ) not with just basic on/off control.

I'm sorry, you are correct it is a 2 stage stat just not hooked up properly. This stat should use the same P + I control as honeywell since it is a honeywell stat that has been slightly reconfigured.
