new A/C installed ; and a t-stat Q

I had a new A/C unit installed last fall, along with a new furnace and ECM.
The installer is coming back soon to add the refrigerant.

I am guessing he is not going to check much else regarding operation, other than the temp.
What else should really be checked regarding the operation of the unit?
(I know a lot more about furnaces than I do about a/c right now )

Also, I went from a 2.5 ton to a 3 ton unit and while they used a new line set, my ductwork is the same. Does this affect anything?

Another question - they installed a Honeywell IAQ (YTH9421) t-stat and gave me the basic manual, which says very little. When they put it in, it was set to 0degree offset, and eventually it got reprogrammed, but I never got the manual to tell me how to make these changes and check other settings.
Can I get this programming manual? (I did search for it already) Because I really can't afford to pay for a service call to mess with the t-stat...

that stat has a lot of functions that I don't believe a homeowner should know how to or be able to change to some extent, however.........here ya go. I'm sure he is going to check everything necessary which is just basic operation after the refrigerant is put in.
