Unbelievable,Thermostat Setting changes by itself
Please help, I noticed this problem last summer. Here is what happens:
I set my AC thermostat to 80 and after few hours the setting changes by itself way down to anywhere from 60 to 70 randomaly therfore, the AC start running to reach that temp.
First, I thought maybe my kids were playing with the settings but when I start montering when my kids are not even home for few days, I found out its real problem.
Again, its not the AC start getting stuck and just run but actually the set temp changes down!!! I know that it doesn't make sense but this is been happening for 2 summers now.. yesterday I went to home depot and bought a new thermostat and replaced the old one but to my surprise the problems still there..
I got an an AC tech at my home & he checked the thermostat wiring and everything was ok and he kind didn't blieve me and said that the setting will never change by itself... and he recomended changing the thermostat which I did but, no help.
I appreciate any help here folks
Thanks,
