AC fan not spin....new motor, new capactior.

AC unit fan stopped spinning. We replaced the motor and then replaced the capacitor and it still wont spin. I can use a stick to start the fan and it runs fine, till it shuts off and starts back up. I do hear the humming sound also. What else could be wrong? What could I have done wrong that it wont work? Also while checking it out we clicked the temp down to make it come back on and "cool" light flashes. I never noticed that before. Didn't know if that means something.

t-stat "cool" flashing is typically a 5 min compressor protection.......

possibly bad new motor or capacitor.
Possibly low voltage to fan.
possibly wired wrong..

Okay so I tried a new fan motor and still not working. I can push start it though. So I wondering about the black wire. Where can I does it go? I have it connected to a box above the contactors.

Brown, yellow, black, brown/white strip.....i had to add wire to all wires coming from the fan motor b/c it was to short. I was told white was ok to add to yellow wire b/c they are the same so I added white wire to yellow. But Yellow wire is going to capacitor/compressor, brown/white strip is going to capacitor/fan, black is going to a little box above contactor, and solid brown wire is closed off.

what little box?

Brown to fan on capacitor
brown/white capped off and taped
white to com.(common) on capacitor
black to contactor or the box you are talking about.
