ceiling vent airflow

I rent a five year old townhome, and I just noticed that the AC vents, located in the ceiling, direct the air flow towards the windows. And the adjustable louvers only make the air flow towards the window also.
Where these put in wrong? Shouldn't the air be directed out into the rooms? Right now, I enjoy the coldest windows around.

Thank you for any information.

Seems simple enough, I'll give it a try.
But were they put in facing the wrong way?

Thanks
