Kelvinator Heat pump

I have an 11 year old Trane XL1200 3 ton heat pump. The compressor is shot.
My a/c repair man is suggesting I replace the system with a 3 ton 14 seer Kelvinator system, that he can get at a much lower cost than a comparable Trane system.
I have not been able to find much info on Kelvinator heat pumps.
Are they any good?

Never heared of them. I'd find a new company if he's suggesting off brand equipment.

Kelvinator is a Nordyne brand. I have no idea about quality or reliability for these products, but have never seen heat pumps or air conditioning systems with the NuTone and Philco names before. I think I'd go with name brand equipment as well.
