Increasing efficiency of non-window portable A/C

EDIT:
Already found an answer by myself, sorry. ;-)

Hi,

I have a portable A/C with an outlet hose. The air inlet does not have a hose attached to it - it just sucks air from the room. It seems to me that it would be better to connect a hose to the inlet as well; since the machine expels air from the room, that air has to be replaced by (hot) air coming from the outside (whether from the outside of the window or from another room in the apartment).

If I can come up with a way to connect a hose to the inlet as well, do you think it would increase the efficiency of the A/C?
