A/C Fan Motor Replacement & Condenser Coil Cleaning
System wouldn't cool, and called the A/C service, they told me two things are needed:
1) Condenser Coil Cleaning
2) Condenser Fan Motor Replacement - which they did in Sept. 2009
3) They wanted to charge $700 to do those two.
My question is:
Can you clean the condenser coil just as good as a pro? If so, what is the cleaner to be used? Where to buy?
Fan motor: it looks pretty simple to replace, I should be able to do it myself.
The motor is: Emerson Model K55HXSTM-9563, can somebody tell me where to buy one?
Thanks!
Kevin

go to local motor shop for replacement. Take the old one with you. Clean the coil while the motor and fan blades are out..... if you have good water pressure you should be fine without cleaner otherwise just use some simple green. Spray the condenser from the inside out.
