A/C not cooling properly

A/C not cooling properly

What should the air temperture be at the inlet vent?

If you mean a whole house A/C system and return grill (where the air is sucked in and routed to the cooling coils)...it should be the about the ambient temp in the house.

If the house temp is 75...the air at the return grill should also be about 75. The cooled air coming out of the vents should be about 15-18 degrees cooler.
