New A/C System - HELP - Comparing Quotes

Hello,

My wife and I bought a bank owned home a few years ago where the prior owner of the home had ripped out the old A/C unit from the outside of our home. The coil is still above the furnace, but we need to get an entire new system put in.

I have had a few different quotes for this job and is wondering what some opinions were:

Oh - our house is a 1960 sq ft center hall colonial.

Quote One: Goodman 3 Ton System w/ 3 Ton Coil

Quote Two: American Standard - AmeriStar - 3 Ton System w/ 3.5 Ton Coil to help with de-humidification of home

Quote Three: Lennox 13ACX System - 3 Ton System w/ 3.5 Ton Coil.

All Quotes are within 10% of one another - just want to make sure we get the best set-up.

Also, which unit will be the quietest as it is adjacent to our pool.

Thanks!

the lennox 13acx is noisy if I remember correctly. Goodman is likely to be just as noisy and the ameristar is a builders grade model. ALL 3 are lower end units from each manufacturer. Best system is usually decided by the best installer. IE a unit will only perform as well as it was installed.

The furnace is only as good as the install.

That being said there are some mfg that use a more robust design approach.

I believe that American Standard/Trane has gotten it right in this regard.

You can see and "feel" the difference from other leading brands (BTW nothing wrong with Carrier and Lennox. Both make sturdy units, but not quit as rugged as AS).

I hope this helps.
