please help

I just moved into a new home and was excited about having central air. During the home inspection, we did not turn on the ac, as the inspector said we would risk burning out the condenser, as it was winter. Now, ive turned on what I thought was the air. On the thermostat, ive switched it to cool and fan on, and reset all the programs to 64 or below. The fan is blowing air out, but the ac unit outside is not turning on. Am I not doing something? The furnace is a lennox and the ac unit is ducane. Thanks

One of the ac pros will be along, but in the meantime, double check circuit breakers and check to see if there is a specific disconnect for the outside unit. Look for a switch box where the big power cable from the unit attaches to the side of the house.

Don't feel stupid, feel smart for checking things out BEFORE you called a tech out; that little flip of the circuit breakers could have cost some $.
