Shading the outside compressor

Would it help the outdoor compressor/coil to be shaded from direct sunlight.
Mine is on a cement patio facing west. It is shaded to the north by several tall shrubs, but totally exposed to the West and South. I was thinking of maybe building a fabric or wood shade to shield the unit, if it would help.
Any ideas on this ???

if you enclose it too much your going to effect it in a negative way. your fine the way it is. there's air constantly being blown across the coil anyway when it's on.

Yes, It will help but not a little shade, you need to lower the surrounding air temp in order for it to work. there are commercial mist kits available for the same purpose. But they are hard to keep/maintain.

the best mist kit you can get is a garden hose with extremely tiny puncture holes, cheap, reliable and easy to maintain.
