Automatic Condensate Removal Pump replacement

The 5 year old Automatic Condensate Removal Pump for my TRANE 5 Ton 16 SEER Heat Pump Unit will not shut off automatically anymore.
Are there any maintenance options or should I just replace the unit?
Any special requirements for the replacement or will any readily available Ac unit do (like 1/50 horsepower 115 volts) ?

Thanks,
Rainer

There is a float operated switch inside the pump enclosure. Make sure it moves freely. They sometimes have the hinge pin fall out.
