Whole House Fan Question...No Attic

I have had several WHF's and been generally very pleased in our dry Colo climate. My current house has no attic. Does anyone manufacture a direct vent fan that would mount on a 1/12 roof?

Your cheapest option would be a window mounted whole-house fan. Here is an example:

Here's another option, however, it seems a little weak, CFM-wise:

Indoor air quality, whole house fans, exhaust and ventilatio

I think your best bet would be to have a proper roof curb installed, and install a commercial type roof exhaust fan. The downside is this won't be cheap.

what's this above the capacitor

I just replaced the capacitor on one of my ACs (feeling quite achieved!). But I was puzzled by a small component above the capacitor (circled in green). I'm guess it's start capacitor? also if it's start capacitor, is it easy to break down? should I also replace it? [ATTACH]1150[/ATTACH]

Hello, I am trying to select a replacement hard start capacitor (the current one seems to have burnt out) for central a/c. Unfortunately, the label from the current start capacitor has been removed, so no details can be identified. The current run capacitor is listed as 40uF and 440VAC. Does the start capacitor need to match the parameters of the run capacitor? If so, I do not seem to be able to find start capacitors rated at even close to 400VAC... Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
