Help Identifing Leaking AC Valve

Hi,

i recently discovered a big puddle of water in the closet where my ac and water heater are. I found a black valve on the side of the ac leaking water. I was hoping someone could tell me why and what the valve is called.

My plan was to buy tubing and direct the water to the floor drain under the water heater. However it seems to be clogged and i cant move the heater.

The ac has never given me a problem before, but this has been a really hot/humid summer if that matters. Also, its a high velocity system.

Thank you so much.

Thats strange. Normally there is a pvc pipe for which the water can drain out of the coil.

Your right. There was a black rubber tube on the floor leading to a hole in the floor. I thought it was something unrelated. Guess it fell off some how.

I know its not HVAC related, but does anyone possibly know if the water heater in that condition is safe? Or should it be replaced?

Thanks
