Question Goodman CPLJ60-1A fan motor replacement help

So, my Goodman CPLJ60-1A's fan keeps cutting out and locking up. Before you ask, I recently replaced the capacitor, so I know that's good to go.

I researched it and determined that the factory unit has a B13400248 1/3hp motor, which apparently equates to part #0131M00008PS in the repair parts manual.

So long story short, I ordered that motor from MidwestApplianceParts only to get a four wire 1/6hp replacement.

From what I've seen on this site, I can easily use the four wire motor, but what I can't figure out is if I can use the 1/6hp motor. One thing I read said that it might actually be more efficient, another I read said don't ever step down your motor.

I'm hoping that someone who knows a little about this stuff can let me know if this is a proper replacement part.

no, you can not go down in fractional horsepower... you can go up in horsepower (slightly)
