A/C inop

I have a ICP Heil A/C unit.
Model: MAC024AKC3
Serial: E042049135
P/N: NAC024AKC3

I have tried to find a manual online but have not been successful.

My problem is that the unit is Inop. With the thermostat set to cool and the temp turned down, the unit is not running. I checked the breaker, it is not tripped. I do not see Ice in the lines. When I place my hand on the top of the case, it is nearly too hot to touch. When I place my ear near the top, I can't here a very faint humming sound. I think the motor has seized up.

I want to know:
1) Could something else be wrong? If so, how do I check for it?
2) If it is the motor, how hard is it to replace?

does the compressor run? It sounds as though the fan does not run? Check in the electrical compartment of the a/c for a swollen capacitor.

The humming you are hearing could just be the contacter closed because unit is calling for ac. sounds like it could be a capacitor issue. Look for the swollen or mishaped capacitor. If you don't see that it looks funny. The only other way to check it would be with a multi meter that has the ability to check for mfd. is your air handler running? Need more info...
